Clem you said it would be fixed in Gutsy - it was not and Hardy is reported to be even worse
Blacklisting bcm43xx seems a very good option now...

Adding Via integrated video support would be a plus, as a great amount of motherboards and Via mini-itx come with it.

the only one i think supports it is gOS rocket gnome, out of the box i think.

many were having issues with Hardy.

Definitely, only now in Hardy it has been trumped by its replacement - the evil B43 module. It is literally stopping the installation with most Averatec notebooks thanks to a still existing loopback error on any Heron install, any CD. Husse knows what I am talking about.
