Completely graphical install option

Postby bagano » Sat Apr 26, 2008 4:30 pm

Ok, im new to linux mint, (have been using ubuntu),
but i think im right in saying that its supposed to make it simpler for people to migrate from non-linux operating systems.

my idea is to have the install(or optionally) proccess completely graphical, i.e. in no part of the proccess do you have to select an option from the keyboard.

maybe if you did want to get to the current first menu of the live cd then you would have to hold a certain key while it loads, otherwise it proceeds straight to the "try linux mint" option.

this would make it simpler and less confusing to users new to linux

Well I think the install process is graphical - can't really remember anything else
All suggestions are welcome but for the time being we have to use the Ubuntu installer ubiqity, to make a new installer takes a lot of work
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
