Just a suggestion:
I've switched to NoteCase from Tomboy and find it very good with a lot of options.
Its executable size is bigger which I guess excludes it from the disk, although it uses less RAM than Tomboy at 15MB rather than 35MB (info from Linux Format Mag).
Might be a good one to put into the Mint Software Portal. I got mine from removed and runs without problems.
