Software Centre to have an "Install" button in the main list

Post by nathanjh13 » Mon Jul 07, 2014 3:37 pm

Instead of clicking on the package then waiting for the info page to load before clicking install, simply have an "Install" button (or right click "Install") right there next to the entry in the list, effectively in the "fourth column" after the number of downloads (or even before).

The info page is helpful only for software you're not familiar with. Most of the time you already know what you're looking for.

I know it can be quicker to use sudo apt-get install but newbies won't know this etc etc.

PS The Android app store does this, click the app to go to the main page then download the app or, which is quicker, tap near the right hand edge of the app in the list and an installation shortcut is already there.

I second this, its a good idea. Maybe have an uninstall button next to installed packages in the list as well.
