shashlik is a bit like wine, but for android apps
http://www.shashlik.io/

they have a deb package
http://www.shashlik.io/news/2016/03/02/shashlik-0-9-3/

flappy bird is an example of an app that works
http://beste-apps.chip.de/android/app/f ... .66885070/

I think something like this, should be a priority
(despite the fact that it's a bit crappy right now)
It should definitely, be in the repos.

From what i understood, it's half an emulator right now
but they plan on dropping that eventually.

The project is run by the good people of KDE

The project appears to not be very active. Their GitHub projects shows no activity for at least a year, with only some changes 4 months ago to the launcher script. They have a PPA but that hasn't been updated since mid 2015. I haven't tested it to see how well it works but will believe your "it's a bit crappy right now". With all that said I don't see this as a good candidate for including it in the Linux Mint repositories right now. "it's a bit crappy right now" is not what people are looking for when they want to run Android apps on Linux

Perhaps but it's actively developed and maintained. That appears to not (or no longer) be the case for shashlik. Besides, Wine isn't in the Linux Mint repository either — it comes from Ubuntu/Debian repository. The Linux Mint repository has a limited amount of software http://packages.linuxmint.com/.
