The Auto Drafts extension is at https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... to_drafts/
Currently, the forum logs out a user after an interval of inactivity. But because writing a post on this forum often requires collecting lots of technical data, such an interval can happen when the user is doing that data collection.
When an autologout happens, the user's post-in-progress is lost, unless the user has been clicking "Save draft" frequently, which (s)he might not think to do.
I hope this phpBB extension would be a solution.

You will most likely get the answer, that no extensions will be used.
You might, assumed you use Firefox, try Lazarus to prevent the problem. Or you open another page - e.g. the board index - in another tab and reload this tab in between. or you use the text editor for composing and copy / paste it over, when ready. Having written myself a little bit more posts than you - partially very long and labor intensive - I can easily live without this extension.
