Cinnamon, clipboard manager missing

why not include a clipboard manager into cinnamon?

searched and got diodon

Would be nice to have that with install of cinnamon?!!

I haven't tried dideon - but have been using ClipIt for a long time, and like it.
It would seem reasonable to include a clip manager. They are very useful.

I agree with the recommendation of Clipit. But whether this - or another - clipboard manager should get preinstalled, is discussable. Many users will not need it and might get confused. For the full power of such a tool the usage of keyboard shortcuts is an important aspect. And this can give problems. E.g. the default keyboard shortcuts in Clipit are not really wisely set; the ctrl-alt keycombinations can easily conflict with other programs. The good thing in Clipit is, that they can easily get changed, but as long as a user does not do this, he might fell into troubles.

I agree that Linux Mint should include a default clipboard manager.
I use clipboard manager a lot, and having tried all of them, my favorite is ClipIt due to its simple and straightforward operation, and the Actions feature, which stores frequently used pieces of text to be copied and pasted easily.

I tested ClipIt but cannot see it supporting images from clipboard, correct?

Thanks John. I know CopyQ and I like it but it's a Qt app. I think if Linux Mint ever ships a clipboard manager as part of the Cinnamon edition, it should be a GTK application, I reckon.
