Good idea on Archer,

I have been away for a long time now - I moved house and still can not get internet at my new place, hopefully just a few more days now...

would it be bad/weird to suggest my self as a op? I'm usually there when no ops are and theres someone begging to be kicked (like right now).

Do you use Windows?
I think this is a Windows error - a socket error with error code 1053
And please don't post two minutes apart

Then try to use the IRC from Mint - if you don't get any problem it is a Win 7 thing and if you still get problems it's probably some proxy or firewall setting

One person doing a lot of work on the IRC is dislexic-gaz. He installed mint some weeks ago and since then has been 10 hours a day (australian time) helping others use mint.

So thanks gaz.

Hi All !

What happened to all the new Ops Husse and Clem created ?
I've logged into the channel a couple of times over the last couple of weeks only to find almost 100 people logged in
all trolling and using bad language, such a shame!

It's the not the support channel it needs to be if Mint is going to grow into a market leading product we all want it to be.

Hi Mike
There are new ops but not enough of them, and perhaps they need to be a bit more "hard"
I have to take this up with Clem again - he is a bit reluctant it seems to add new ops

I agree with ikey on that topic and I will back him up.

Also I think it is kinda important that more people see the use of #pimpmymint as the off topic channel.
There was to many off-topic talk on #LinuxMint while #pimpmymint is nearly empty.

So anybody who wants some nice off topic chat please join #pimpmymint and put it there ;)

Roin

I have not been in the room that long, I will do my up most to keep inside the guide lines set by the OPs. If you ever need help with an extra channel OP, feel free to call on me. I am on my computer all the time when I am home and on the channel. My new home away from home.
