Remove title bars

Post by eimantasks »

Hello! Thank you for this awesome linux distribution! I really enjoy using it, but it would be way more comfortable if I could remove that annoying Firefox system title bar at the top of the browser.. it just uses up space without real purpose. I can do that on chrome, but no option to remove it on Firefox for some reason. Yes there was some kind of addon but now it just messes up the browser. Nemo also has it just an enormous space left unusable, so I hope that one day this will be improved :)

With firefox why not just use full screen mode. Press f11 to activate/de-activate it.
That way, the entire top portion of the window (window manager title bar, menu bar, tabs etc...) as well as any Window manager desktop task bar will disappear until you slide the mouse to the top of the screen.
This gives back lots of room - more than what you were asking for.

If you're using fluxbox, put this (Deco) in your ~/.fluxbox/apps file:

Code: Select all

[app] (name=Navigator) (class=Firefox) (role=browser)
  [Deco]    {0x6}
  [Maximized]   {yes}
[end]
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?
