Update Manager / Kernels

Post by FreedomTruth »

I propose listing the end-of-support date with each kernel, in the update manager, something like:
Kernels_proposed.png
This could help a user more easily determine which kernel series they want to stick with.
NOTE I did not actually implement this; I just modified a screenshot :D

Looks like a good idea to me. :)

Post it on the idea site and I'll probably support it:

Note that there are one or two very active people on the idea site, who like to bash and downvote each new idea they see, no matter how good it is.....

I like it, and I hope they implement it when they have the time to do so. Our developers are busy!

I also think it's a great idea. A while ago someone here on the forums didn't believe me when I told them kernel series 4.8 was already end of life, even though I linked to Ubuntu's kernel page.

Yes well stubbornness is not that easy to fix.
