I propose listing the end-of-support date with each kernel, in the update manager, something like:
NOTE I did not actually implement this; I just modified a screenshot

I also think it's a great idea. A while ago someone here on the forums didn't believe me when I told them kernel series 4.8 was already end of life, even though I linked to Ubuntu's kernel page.
