I have decided to put all my improvement demands in one place. 12345

Post by flatiron »

This prevents excess threads and helps me keep track of the demands I have already made (which is why I included that number in the title so I could easily search for this again. There is, as far as I know, no way for me to search for the threads I have made in a specific forum, so this is much easier).

1) Make it to where the firewall status and logs can be easily viewed by clicking an icon in the panel. This makes it easier to see what is going on without the bother of logging onto it.

2) Make it to where Unity games work properly. Frame rates are lowered for some reason on MINT. I have no idea why. This is really the only reason to use Ubuntu, and Ubuntu is awful. So awful that I am willing to not play certain games just to avoid it.

3) Make it to where the change logs and the full update descriptions are available in the update history. They are far more detailed than what I hunted down with my search engine, and thus do not provide misleading results.

there is more to come, but I cannot recall it all at the moment.

This is a suggestion which I support. Actually I had suggested this already a year ago. I have a bookmark in my file manager for /usr/share/doc, but it is rather cumbersome to move to the relevant sub-folder at first. I also suggested to add the update level to the history items. At now the history is not of much help.

The reason I write this is to demonstrate, that I am not in principle against your ideas. I have something against permanent ranting, and this is the impression, which you have created here in the last weeks.

Okay, then I have a demand of my own:

Go to bed.

If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

I demand that Linux Mint leave $500 in twenties in a plain paper bag behind the 7-11 dumpster at midnight tonight.

Or else! You don't want me messing with Arch linux again, do you!?!?
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!

Flatiron, I think you will find that a lot of people respond better to polite suggestions than they do to demands. This applies not just on the Mint forums, but everywhere, worldwide, as far as I know.
