Native Language Keybards
I am Indigenous American from the Ojibwe Nation, I seen on the list of language keyboard inputs there was Cherokee but it was the only indigenous keyboard. I was wondering about an Ojibwe Syllabics keyboard also being able to be put into that list. I believe there are many companies that are working with mac and windows like keymans, but they have yet to have it for linux. I was thinking it would be nice to just have it as an input keyboard that you could switch from english QWERTY to Ojibwe Syllabics.
Re: Native Language Keybards
Someone with knowledge of the syllabics and how they are used is needed to create such a layout - why not you?
There are actually programs for that such as this Layout Editor from the Google Summer Camp: https://github.com/simos/keyboardlayouteditor All you need is to put the syllabics on the keys how ever you like them; unicode tables (e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_C ... ode_block)) or the ''charmap'' program will support you.
If you don't dare to do use these programs and struggle with the unicode tables, I suggest that you just post here a picture/table of the layout how you imagine it - maybe someone else will invest an hour or two to set and test it - then just share it with others
