Optical disk load button

Post by jontrv » Thu May 24, 2018 10:03 am

I would like to propose that nemo and gnome-disks grow a button to load an optical disk, in addition to ejecting same, or possibly reversal of the icon to effect loading if the tray is in an ejected state.

I know it can be done, as under Wine, a winwoes app called imgburn can do it.

Ideally a minor mod to a generic driver should present a 'retract tray' api, so any app that plays with optical media can call the api on request.
I fully appreciate that optical devices have control buttons, but it is not always convenient to reach under the tray to press it.
