Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon (64Bit)
I have a feeling I am going to be getting yelled at for some of my posts, hopefully not.
I apologize in advance if I am not doing this correctly.
I have seen a post requesting this feature, but this is a post regarding how it is functioning.
If you set your desktop icon mode to "align to grid" and you try to move your desktop icons around they don't seem to be following a grid pattern, the icons seem to not be able to placed in any kind of a grid pattern.
(I am aware there is a mode where you can shut off "align to grid" and "automatic" and you can move icons anywhere which appears to work fine)
Not sure if anyone else has experienced this?

Not an issue on Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon. Suggest again you should consider upgrading.
Arranging by grid and then snapping to grid was added to, or improved in, Nemo iteratively over the past few releases.
