is there any option to set Auto-Save of documents when battery is critical before shut down?

I make it a point to set AutoBackup to 1 minute in all of my document editors.
worst case, you will loose 60 seconds worth of changes...

I just posted up a new thread for Cinnamon trying to find out why Power Management does not have AutoShutdown on Critical Battery.... my laptop battery went to zero and my file system crashed.

I'm off to look at that. My systems are set to hibernate on critical battery BTW; this in combination with auto-save seems to be the best policy for me.

What we need is for the issues with suspend and hibernation to be fixed, if possible. I don't have any real issues, but I know some do; machines going into comas etc..

last night's file system crash put me back on my old habits,

I now just shutdown the PC, all is well that way.
