Hi,
I think, there is something in mintUpdate, which could be improved.
When I select a package from the update list and click on the Changelog tab, apparently nothing happens for a while, but mintUpdate seems to be frozen. Just after 2-3 seconds the Changelog tab will be active and show its content.
Similar effect, when the Changelog tab is already active and now I click on an other package, the same pause occurs before switching to it.
My proposal:
Right after clicking the Changelog tab should be active and display a hint, e.g. "Downloading data..." or "Searching for...".
In this way the "frozen" impression could be avoided.

Yeah, I've noticed this lag too, and for the moment it's not too bad, but it would be good to improve the code's performance if possible, or perhaps use an apt tool that doesn't take so long in the background.
