Eco-friendly search engine

Post by webmeist »

Hi.
I use mint and just found out about a search engine that actually plants trees.
Just thought you all might be interested in adding it to the distribution.
I was able to add it to firefox though.
Thanks a lot.

Headlines are always made to draw attention ( and to sell ads ), but when I read this article it does say the following which contradicts the headline:
But the researchers say the fertilisation effect diminishes over time.

They warn the positives of CO2 are likely to be outweighed by the negatives.
I support this great idea of using a search engine to do good for the environment. Millions of dollars have already been donated to support the preservation of the Amazon forest for example, And those millions of dollars originated from the users simply using this search engine. Great positive spirit! Would love to see this search engine as one of the possible choices to choose from in the Firefox preferences.

Hi, please can Ecosia be added to the search engine list on: https://www.linuxmint.com/searchengines.php ?

They do plant a lot of trees with many side benefits - the other search engines do nada... Can we help promote Ecosia more please? Thanks

"After 7 days we remove all personal information (like the IP address) from the search data we collect ourselves. So we don't know what you have searched for.

We will never share your searches with anyone except services that are directly involved in answering your search request, like Bing. To make sure, we don't use any third party tools on the Ecosia Search pages. We also actively prevent "Search Leakage", so none of the sites you visit by clicking on a search result on Ecosia know what you searched for.

Ecosia does provide options for performing searches on various third party websites via the “More” dropdown, the “Maps” tab, and the Ecosia Search Tag feature. Please be aware that we can’t influence what third party websites track about you once you have followed a link."

Eco-friendly search engine

One, does this Search Engine Hurt Users who use the Search Engine?
It'd be strange if a Billion Users flocked to the Search Engine without even realizing
that the Search Engine might hurt them in return...

Is it safe to use for 1? "Do They Collect Data on anyone?"
"Are They Overly Strict?" & "How Is Their Security?"

If All Angles Are A Solid here?

Then that is good News for the Search Engine.
I Loved World = 80's & 90's
World Hates Me = 2016 to 2019
I Hate World = 2020 & ^
They want us to Suffer, then lets speed it up, just burn our Sanity away. Else, Shut It!
