bring the weather app back

simple enough bring the weather app back to new installs, I'm unaware of the implications of my request but since it's removal I kind of miss it.

it's an Upstream Issue & thus is Not something that the Team.LinuxMint can address.

You could take my-weather-indicator for a test drive and see how you like it. Its in the Software Manager. I've used it for a few years now without issue.

the weather applets for cinnamon mate and xfce used to be installed by default and depending on which desktop environment depends on which app, I think they stopped including them around the time yahoo stopped their weather project and now they are serviceable again threw other means.
