I think a great option would be to have the ability to secure selected Workspaces on the desktop. I think a great option would be to require a password or pin number or just a special key combination to show the workspace. It is just a thought I am having so I can keep non work related items in a hidden workspace. Or maybe even have the workspace hidden from the switcher or selector on the menubar and only require a hot key combination to access? I hope my thought is clear and I am wondering if anyone else would find this useful?
PS, did the forums delete old users or something? My username of hacknperl was deleted apparently... I was able to create a new one... just a curiosity thing.

Re: Workspace "security"
You could probably program it such that the user would need to do something special to switch to the "hidden" workspace. But that doesn't make any programs hidden on the computer. Any other programs would still be able to see all the workspaces and in the process list can still see all the programs running on the computer.
It this is about your boss walking in and switching workspaces on your computer and seeing you're playing minecraft instead of working? The quick solution for that is to put a password on your screensaver and lock your screen when you walk away from your desk.
As for your username if it was registered before but you never used it and hadn't logged in for a very long time yes it would have been deleted.

Re: Workspace "security"
I guess I just want to prevent someone from opening my second workspace if I were to step away from the computer. I am not looking for high security. If I am that concerned I will just lock the computer when walking away. I guess a secret work space would be more along the lines of what I kind of want. Where it doesnt show up in the workspace selector but to access it you have a special hot key combination with maybe a pin number. Super low end security... just keeps snoopers from taking a quick peek I guess is my thoughts. I know in my situation at both home and at work it would be handy. I have a work space I like to put my financial stuff on and leave on the screen. I just dont want anyone taking a quick and easy peek at it if I were to step away for a minute. I just think it could be a handy feature is all.

Re: Workspace "security"
I mean if you can't trust the people that have access to your computer when you step away, lock it. They can also look in your browser bookmarks or history. Lock it. And put disk encryption on that computer.
