Ever since Mozilla Firefox exposed itself with their de-platforming comments, I would not feel safe and secure with their web browser on my LM OS. For a company that claims to promote privacy it also has google's search engine as default which further brings their browser into question.
I would like our security experts to weigh in on this matter. Im not sure about the Brave browser but I have considered them as well.

I'm not a security expert but got disgusted at mozilla for that same reason and switched to vivaldi, which turned out to be, well I didn't like it much, so switched back to FF..FOSSguy_1x wrote: ⤴Tue Feb 09, 2021 10:33 am Ever since Mozilla Firefox exposed itself with their de-platforming comments, I would not feel safe and secure with their web browser on my LM OS. I'm posting this using LibreWolf Appimage, which at 77M is the same size as a firefox install tarball from
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org ... /releases/
but that expands into 214M

It would be prefect if LibreWolf was the default web browser instead of Firefox. I am using LibreWolf right now (AppImage)

I unreservedly second that!
Even having LibreWolf in the repository would be great, so that it can be automatically updated in a timely and secure way.
The official Debian build is only available in a repository for Debian Unstable and doesn't work with Mint.
(I don't use Flatpak because I don't like the security).

Re: Adding LibreWolf as default
as always the Developers have Targetted the Windows System,
by releasing an EXE file for that system.
but they haven't released any DEB file for mainstream Linux Systems.
instead they've released an Source code (tar.bz2) file set.

It looks like there may be some activity around supporting Ubuntu / Mint.

Just following some of the comments on the site though, it looks as if they might be on a steep learning curve.
It will be great if they can get it going.
