Suggestion for Sorting Method on Cinnamon Desktop

Hi -- I am on Mint 19.3 with Nemo file manager. A useful feature on my wishlist would be to have desktop *files* sorted by date but with the desktop *folders* sorted alphabetically. So two different sorting methods for the desktop. The option to clear the 'sort folders before files' within Nemo sort of gets me there, but I would rather not have files and folders intermingled. Is this currently possible or is there any way to make this happen with a few tweaks -- or can another file manager do this sort of thing? The reason for my request is that sorting files into folders would be much faster -- I find both date sort and name sort to be useful but intermingling the two would be even better.
