New update needed!

Post by BogdanovCoding »

The new and improved Linux Mint 20.2 should come with Python3.9 by default instead of 3.8

I am just spreading the word on the street and hoping that the powers that be take notice

All the operating system components that use Python are tested with the LTS version of Python so it won't be upgraded. Such an upgrade happens with a next major release of Linux Mint, when it switches to a next LTS package base.

On any Linux Mint 20.x version you can install python3.9 package through Synaptic if you need Python 3.9. Just start any script with #!/usr/bin/python3.9 to use that version instead of the system Python version.
