Husse Quotes

Post by Oscar799 »

Even though he was communicating in a second language Husse certainly had a way with words.
Maybe a good way to commemorate him on the forum would be to put together a collection of "Husse Quotes" which anyone who wants to can pick a favourite and add it to their signature and credit it to Husse.
I'll start the collection off with this one(I'm paraphrasing as I can't remember it exactly, hopefully someone will put me right)
"Gentlemen, lets not get agitated about a bunch of 0's and 1's"

David Hunter,
Yes,something like that :)
or like this :- "Actually I've never broken a Linux I have managed to install - but there are a few I never managed to install" Husse
Other people will probably come up with other ways.

One of my favorites. THie was Husse's final comment to me after over a week of trying to get Mint 6 to install on an old Dell Optiplex.
Yeah - we simply have to accept that there are some problems we can't fix - some hardware that does not like some software

This is a link to all Husse's posts http://forums.linuxmint.com/search.php? ... &sr=posts.
(originally provided by David Hunter on the Dedicate a Release in Memory of Husse thread)
Seems like a good idea to have it here too.

Hmm, what about adding some Husse quotes to Fortune in the next Mint release?

EDIT: tower already came up with this idea in the other thread

Nice to think that Husse can still conjure up a forum thread nearly a year after his death, especially when a lot of new users won't even have a clue who he was. What he was was a legend on his own bus  and on this forum too. How he achieved this in a second language never ceases to mystify me. I actually shed tears when I heard he had died, even though I knew next to nothing about the man (not very "viking" like I know - but that is only a forum name).

Husse quotes has already been done btw it was started in Mint9. I am not sure if it still exists because I detest 'fortunes' and always remove them even if they contain quotes from Husse. I personally was in favour of a release named after him, that was discussed, but not adopted.

I like Husse thoughts, they're like Robert Fulghums ones... :)

Hope, you know who is Robert Fulghum... ;)

Sweden if I remember correctly.

Somewhere Scandinavian anyway.

Husse's last forum post here:
Welcome to Mint
Please read the simple rules
in the link in the red box on top of the page
If it takes six minutes to boot there is definitely something wrong and probably with the live CD/DVD
Did you check the md5sum and burned slowly?

Yes, he was from Sweden. Near Borås. He lived not far from where I'm posting right now.
