I think is a good idea recover this desktop with LMDE

I could be wrong, but I don't see how the Mint Team could possibly produce any more editions than what is already out there.

Why should use enlightenment LMDE by default?

1- E17 is just a base as Windows Manager

2- Highly configurable and customizable, better than Gnome 2

3- Works perfectly with Gtk and Qt applications

4- Usable on old and modern equipment
