fully customizeable keyboard

Postby ricky » Fri Jan 04, 2008 7:21 pm

since i committed to mint, (my computers are now mintchines  ) wanted to suggest a way to improve it. so after racking my brain i have thought of it. a fully customizable keyboard. we could do this by making a program that allows for users to input their key combinations (must have at least two keys pressed like alt+t) and then have them enter the command to correspond to that key combo. i know that gnome does this to a smaller extent, but if it was fully customizable you could do things like press ctrl+s to start skype, or g+r for ktorrent, and so on and so forth.

also mouse gestures for the desktop. like draw an L and close a program. that would be cool too.

i hope none of this is already implemented, if so don't make fun of me.

hm, seems not to clever (Ctrl S that is, because it's used for saving normally)
Anyway, in kde you can do such things.
