How about BSD Mint?

Postby Tomjerry » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:56 pm

Hello everyone,

First congratulations to the Mint team for becoming the leading Linux distro. With your dedication and efforts you have reached to the top. As you offer many versions of Mint, like Debian, XFCE, LXDE, I have a suggestion for you. Why not create a BSD version of Mint based on Free BSD which could be named BSD Mint, Mint BSD or Unix BSD Mint, BSD UNIX Mint or just "NIX Mint"! While you are offering Linux versions, adding BSD versions would be a great thing since BSD has its own merits and that would greatly increase your following. :D

The audience would be limited at best and the maintenance efforts high... It just doesn't seem like a good idea.
