Could not download all repository indexes

Postby diacad » Fri Mar 14, 2014 4:21 pm

I am getting these kinds of messages when trying to update a fresh install of Mint 13 (Maya) 32-bit xfce.

Code: Select all

Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

It seems it sometimes wants to download 59 files, other times over 600 files. Response is different every time I try clicking on "update". Since so far computer seems to operate OK otherwise, I am tempted to ignore these messages. What do they mean? I am a newbie - if they are important and I have to do something, what is it please? "something wicked happened" is not informative; I am too green to deal with "wicked"....

Reason: Split into its own thread. One more Medibuntu is dead error.

Solution is here : http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=2469

BUT : this is a very old thread AND you're using the main edition, and this is the LMDE section :?
