Post by josweet » Thu Jan 22, 2015 11:42 pm

Firstly im a noob, so if i can do it.. anyone can ;)

This will show you how to install the 30 day trial version into Mint 17.1
IF your running a non trial version, (full version) then use the Photoshop CS6 installation found in POL as it has the added library "Adobe air
".

Assuming you already have Adobe Photoshop CC then we will begin.
Install "Playonlinux" from the software centre and run it.
Press "Install" then "install non listed programme" (Bottom left hand corner)

POL
A new box will appear so click "Next"

Now your have the choice "Install a programme in a new virtual drive" if you dont know what this means.. then this is the one for you ;)

Next name the application>

name it
NOTE> Sorry no more pictures, as 3 is the maximum allowed in a thread.

Now tick the following >
Use another Version of Wine
Configure wine
Install some librarys

NEW > Click next and choose the wine version ""1.7.34-PhotoshopBrushes" (if it not listed, install using POL) < NEW

Click NEXT and select 32bit
Playon linux (POL) will now prepare for the next stage.

A new window will appear where u can choose Windows version. Choose Windows 7
and Click OK

In the next window you need to tick the boxes to the following librarys>
1) POL_Call POL_Install_atmlib
2) POL_Call POL_Install_corefonts
3) POL_Call POL_Install_FontsSmoothRGB
4) POL_Call POL_Install_gdiplus
5) POL_Call POL_Install_msxml3
6) POL_Call POL_Install_msxml6
7) POL_Call POL_Install_tahoma2
9) POL_Call POL_Install_vcrun2008]
10) POL_Call POL_Install_vcrun2010

Once all the correct boxes are ticked, click NEXT

Now Brouse to your Photoshop installation exe (setup file) and begin your installation.
NOTE> You will be asked to sign in at the first PS screen. Continue reading if your using the 30day trial.

Photoshop will begin the installation process.
IMPORTANT NOTE> If you are running the 30 trial version and you DO NOT have your sigh in details to hand, you will need to disconnect your internet connection for it to proceed. EG> click sign in, wait for error then click "sign in later"

Photoshop will now begin the installation process.
>>> NOW>> this is crucial !!!<<<
Photoshop installation progress bar will dissapear before it gets to the end and an error will come up. IGNORE this and wait. Photoshop is STILL installing. If you look at your HDD lght, your see its still active.
Give it a couple of minutes to compete and click NEXT
Finally> Name your shortcut in POL Photoshop, and you will get a photoshop Icon on your desktop. Click cancel after in POL as your finished.

TIP>
If a function such as the "Liquify tool" does not work correctly, simply go into Preferences>Performance and UNtick "use graphics processor"

You now have a working 30day trial. You will need to buy it if you wish to continue use after the 30days

Unfortunately none of this worked for me.

At one point it appeared to be working, but if you shut it down, it will not restart and you get an error message.

It's close, but there are problems.

Use "1.7.34-PhotoshopBrushes" as they seem more stable.
98% of the time PS works perfectly, but what u have described occasionally occurs. Reboot always fixes the issue.

Im happy with PS now, so there will be no further updates or posts on this..

Unfortunately doesn't work because of active internet connection (even if I shut wireless connection down)
