(Not quite sure where to post this as it isn't a tutorial or a question, but rather a warning.)

If you're running a machine that was shipped with Windows 7 and upgraded to Windows 10, booting into the installation media will often break the Windows 10 start menu, as well as Windows Platform apps and Cortana. This is a current issue because of the way Windows 10 handles boot file and startup. Ever wonder why Windows 10 takes longer to shutdown that to start up? It's because it saves everything it needs right there in front for quick loading. When you boot into a live environment media, Windows cannot verify these files properly, and such has problems starting necessary system services. This is not an issue for Linux Mint or whatever system you choose to boot, but rather a problem with Windows 10 itself. There are reports on their forums for all this but it's very unlikely they'll ever change it.

Also, I'm not entirely sure why only systems shipped with Windows 7 seem to be having this issue, but it's a bit of a problem.

Beware of what you're doing beforehand.
