I hope this is in the right place.
I was looking for information on installing Arduino on Linux Mint. It appears that the one available through Software Manager is out of date.
This youtube video gives instructions to install the download from the Arduino site via a terminal.

I downloaded the latest software from the site, and installed it following these instructions.
I replaced 1.6.9 with 1.8.5.
Just thought it might be of interest.
