XFCE panel gets stuck: how to fix

Post by asinoro »

I experienced a very nasty issue that had long time to occur, the stuck of the Xfce panel. What I did.
Menu > Settings > Keyboard > Application Shortcuts > Add – Command - enter

Code: Select all

xfce4-panel -r
OK – where it asks a key combination, I did

Code: Select all

ctrl+alt+p
p for panel to remember and thats it. By apply this command it kills and restores the panel.

If you are talking about the panel freezing up, (won't respond to any input) then you can also simply use the task manager to kill it, and it will automatically restart. You can also use xkill to kill it.
