Firefox with rounded tabs: a solution

Post by cecilieaux »

I found a solution for the new Firefox (I miss a lot of the old extensions, especially Tab Mix Plus).

1. Download this as a zip file: https://github.com/wilfredwee/photon-australis

2. Unzip the file at

Code: Select all

/home/user/.mozilla/firefox/profile/chrome/
3. You'll get three flavors of a replacement chrome.css for the three default theme flavors: userChrome-dark.css, userChrome-default.css and userChrome-light.css

4. Close Firefox.

5. Rename chrome.css as chrome-original.css (for safety)

6. Select either the dark, default or light replacement .css to suit your theme. (If you are using a non-standard theme, choose one close that is closest: dark if your theme has dark colors, light if light, etc., default won't work on all themes.)

Enjoy!

Just to be clear: "Firefox with rounded tabs: a solution" means making the tabs rounded, not a solution to rounded tabs (which I hate) by making their corners square, correct? (the github page also hinted at it without actually saying so).
I mention that because I have a custom .css file which messes with tabs but I don't recall whether it makes them square(d) or they're like that by default.
Please edit your original post title to include [SOLVED] if/when it is solved!
Your data and OS are backed up....right?

Correct: this is to make square tabs rounded.
