how to fix grub

Post by podagee »

for those who are hard headed like me and do things opposite of what some people say like install windows first?i do it after installing linux.after doing the install either you get a screen that says "no partition found....grub rescue," or it just boots directly into windows.heres the solution and ive tried it..
http://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-re ... o/download
download it and burn its image to a disk.heres directions on how to use it...
http://sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair/home/Home/
in simple terms for using, just boot up the disk
select boot repair
go to advanced options
go through the tabs until you see mbr and select it
now it runs the repair.
after the reboot it'll bring back up your boot menu and there you have it.
some might say another way to do it but this is the easiest way i found.
Say it with me,"podagee,....(poh-duh-gee),"
got it?GOOD!

The easiest method is to use the Linux Mint LiveCD to reinstall grub2.
