Can't Boot Live CD

Post by kf4tqj » Fri Mar 21, 2008 7:39 pm

Hi Group,
I've got a Linux Mint 4.0 Live CD. I have successfully installed this CD in an older Compaq Presario. I am trying to upgrade to a much faster machine. A Dell OptiPlex GX270. All other things are the same. Same monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers ...
I get to the screen that says loading the kernel and then nothing.
Here's the specs on the machine:

wild guess, try a different CDrom,
If the drive is a burner itself, burn the disk using that drive, then read it.

If you make it this far, and it still says loading kernel, shoot again. Try loading bios defaults... (doubt this will help)
