Dual booting Linux Mint 13 on macbook air 2012

Post by Arne »

Hello,

I just got my new macbook air, and I am trying to get a dual boot with Linux Mint alongside the OS X. I have installed the rEFIt boot manager, and i have partitioned my ssd to a partition for linux. To install Linux Mint, I have a samsung external CD-drive. So, the problems I have encountered so far is when i try to boot Mint. The computer is getting a kernel panic when I let the normal installer run by itself. When i choose the "try mint now"-option, I can use Mint without any problems. Then Ive tried to install Mint from there, and it seems to install properly, the only problem is when i reboot my computer; the kernel panic is coming up, and I can't run Mint.

Do anyone have any solutions for this problem?

UPDATE:

I installed it again, this time using another guide I found. My new problem is not that I get kernel panic, i simply only get a black screen, and the computer freezes there. Any solutions?
