I have an old computer whose BIOS will not allow boot from USB. However from the old OS, which I wish to replace, I can view the the MINT files I have on a USB drive I bought from a popular linux software vendor. Those files are : (We are talking about Mint 12 "Lisa" here)
/media/Mint/boot
/media/Mint/casper
/media/Mint/install
/media/Mint/isolinux
/media/Mint/preseed
/media/Mint/syslinux
/media/Mint/casper-rw
/media/Mint/ldlinux.sys
/media/Mint/md5sum.txt
So, the question is, if I can see them, how can I INSTALL from them WITHOUT booting from the USB? And no, I do not want to invest in a IDE DVD reader or a newer BIOS motherboard.

Burn the ISO to a DVD and use that.

Beardedragon: No, I do not have nor want to buy a DVD Drive.
Remoulder: WOW! I have never heard of PLOP but it sounds super cool. Looks a little complicated to a noob like me but on my hobby machine I have nothing to lose. Thanks.
