LiveCD Login

Postby White Hawk » Sat Apr 19, 2008 10:06 am

When I boot up the liveCD, it goes to some kind of login screen that requests a username and a password. I have never set either of these, and am wondering how to login. Any help is appreciated. :)

I had the same problem. I found out I had a bad ISO. Might check the media on the ISO.

I have used this disc on my other computers and it loads fine to a desktop instead of a login screen. It even works at school. :|

I think the default username is guest. Are you using Main or a CE?

I'm pretty sure it is main, but not positive. Is there somewhere I can check? I am going to go see if the username "guest" is accepted.

Guest did not work, I set up this computer just to install Linux Mint too. :(

If you still have the ISO, check the md5sum.txt (?). And Main use GNOME.

The md5 was okay. The screen looks just like the picture linked below.

This is an error - you do not use a log in in the live CD and the picture is the normal GDM
Either you are not booting the live CD but an installed version or your disk is bad (or some odd hardware gives the Live CD hickups, but I don't think so)
