Linux Mint at an old PC

Postby BiG » Mon May 12, 2008 7:03 am

Hello everyone,
I'd like to ask you how can I install linux mint at C466MHz, 192MB RAM etc. The main problem is of course memory. I was trying it to install in vgalo, but with no success. So is there a chance how to install it? Text mode installation or different installation methods?

This may actually work
You have to use some live CD Linux with small requirements like knoppix
Use it to partition and make a swap partition
The swap will be used by the Mint live CD and I guess that you just about can install - running should be ok but slow(er)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
