Black screen after upgrade from Linux Mint 13 to 14

Post by linuxero »

Hi all,

I have upgraded my Linux Mint 13 to Linux Mint 14. I followed the next steps http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-upgrad ... a-with-apt

After the reboot appears a login window, I put my user and password and then a black screen appears with the mouse pointer.

What's happened?

Kind regards.

The best way to update from one version to another is a clean installation.

I've opened the terminal by Ctrl + Alt + F1 and then I've put:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get upgrade
Now is downloading the packages. Crossing fingers...

I've put:

Code: Select all

sudo reboot
The system has been rebooted and now I can start a Gnome classic session!
I hope that the system is more stable than version 13.
Kind regards.

My internet connection was unconfigured. I have needed to use this command:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf
sudo reboot
