Linux mint 14 (nadia) live cd gparted not showing partions

Post by saas »

I am just trying to install linux mint 14 on my desktop and its booting into live cd, but when I try to install on its partitioning step, its not showing my partitions.

If I use "$ sudo fdisk -l" it shows as: mint@mint ~ $ sudo fdisk -l

Partition table entries are not in disk order

but in installer its not showing nor if I use gparted.

Note: I have successfully installed it on my laptop (dell xps 15z) yesterday and it works fine (specially I loved my trackpad working :D).

So guys please help ???

Note: I can browser around partitions in live cd, can play videos, open anything.

Not gonna lie, kinda dumbfounded that GParted isnt playing nicely. You say, "its not showing my partitions," so what does it show? Does GParted even recognise the sda drive being there?

Was the previous install a different computer? Regardless of the previous question, Im assuming youre now setting up the partitions in the same fashion as you did before correct; including the Windows partitions?
