Hi,

Though there are many guides to install linux on a separate partition. Or install linux on another hard drive from a preexisting windows .

I haven't managed to find a guide for installing windows on a new hard drive , on a machine with linux already installed . So when Grub loads up it lists a menu to boot into either operating system .

Can someone please point me to a guide that will help ?.

If you can select the boot device w/BIOS, it's much better to keep the two OSs separate (IMHO) rather than making windows depend on grub.
- disconnect the linux disk (power off, etc)
- install windows on the other disk.
- connect the linux disk.
- reboot and select OS w/BIOS.

Thanks ! I was getting so into the idea of using grub.I completely overlooked the simplest & safest method .
