Problems upgrading

Postby kadobonux » Tue Jun 10, 2008 9:58 am

First of all thanks to all the team for their work...great job

I use Daryna and I've just downloaded Elyssa, but it seems that I've got problems installing the new version.
1) I get a message: Wrong chipset. 915 Resolution only works with Intel 800/900 graphic chipset

2) then the computer restarts

3) I've got a black screen for about 3/4 minutes

4) I've got a small screen "there was an error starting the GNOME SETTINGS DAEMON process

5) I've got a login screen, which refuses to recognize my login and/or password

I must say I'm just a beginner with linux, do you know what the problem might be?

Ok is this the live CD or did you install
1 and 4 are completely normal nothing to worry about (unless you have Intel graphics)

AAhhh a reply at last! well I downloaded elyssa on a CD and burnt it. Then I booted on this CD. Does that answer your question? I've got an ATI RADEON graphic card. Anyway thanks for your help. I was about to switch to Ubuntu, which I like too, but I wish I could stay on Mint

There is something strange going on - I found a lot of unanswered posts from june 10 today....
Did you try "Compatability mode"
press any key during count down....

When the CD boots there is a countdown - press any key and you'll find a menu
