using a usb made on win to work on linux

Post by Cocolate » Fri Aug 16, 2013 10:52 am

Using a usb made on windows to work on linux or

using a flashdrive on windows made on windows to work on linux / ubuntu / linux mint

^^^
I n case anyone is looking for the answer I made it like that: I couldn't find it quickly :|

I have my windows xp desk, I have my flashdrive formatted to NTFS, I need to cops a file to it, and later use it on my computer running Linux later.

Guess?> I download the file in my Windows XP formatted USB as NTFS and after the file has been downloaded I reformat to Fat32... wait, I must have not slept long enough this morning. That would erase the flashdrive-- wouldn't it? Wait, would it?

I'm not even sure where the question starts or even what it is. . . . but to narrow the last bit down...... yes, if you have formatted to fat32, you wiped it clean. :|

Sorry I was really tired when I asked this question this morning.

I have a USB I have files on for my Linux Mint

I added the files using Win XP

I want to you use the files when I get home when I get home on my Linux Mint. I cant find it online if this is neseccary or how to keep the files with formating.

Can Linux read NTFS I think its only FAT32
