PC WILL NOT boot from CD

Postby BadFish » Tue Jul 29, 2008 12:07 pm

I have an old PC I would like to use to play on. It is an HP Cel667, 512 RAM 15 gig HD. Clearly it is a little dinosaur.

The problem I have always had with this PC is getting the motherboard to boot from CD. I have gone through ALL the boot screen steps. I have booted install and live Linux CDs into at least a dozen other PCs and have always been able to figure everything out. I have installed and used live CDs for at least 20 Linux distros and have been installing Windows OSs on PCs (when I have to) since Windows 98.

Does anyone have a Floppy boot discs they like and can recommend. I remember having to use floppy boot discs to get some old distros to boot and I always had to use them with this PC and am wondering if there is a "generic" one out there that people like that I can use to boot any OS CD.

Again, I have had a lot of experience with the setup screen and getting stubborn PC to boot from CD. This one won't I need a floppy.

Tanks so much in advance!

This should do it for you:
use it on a floppy, USB flash drive, or a CD media

If you have any problems using it, go to their forums:

My Linux Distros:
sidux - Parsix - DreamLinux - Mint
