A friend of mine bought the Gigabyte Z87X-D3H motherboard as a result of his attempt to upgrade his old PC.
After we installed Windows 8.1 due to his need for specialised tools because of his work, we tried to install Mint 16 Cinnamon
on the same system, running the live DVD.
The funny thing is that while we were running the live DVD, we had a thing I've never seen before: The mouse cursor left a trace of successive cursors
while moving it around the screen. Nevertheless, thinking that it had something to do with the graphics driver, I went on to install it on the hard drive.
When the installation finished, during rebooting, we didn't have the Grub or a successful boot. Instead, we had a black screen which stayed there forever.
Something smelled fishy because while pressing F12 during boot, one of the options said something about UEFI, which I know is not always Linux compatible.
Now, the question is:
I read in the specifications of the motherboard and there is a note saying
Can somebody tell me if installing Mint on this MB is possible? I didn't find any driver like the one mentioned above.Due to different Linux support condition provided by chipset vendors, please download Linux driver from chipset vendors' website or 3rd party website.
Many thanks in advance.
