Any 64bit versions?

Postby nosatalian » Thu Aug 07, 2008 3:21 am

Just installed, and distro sees slick. Automatically prompting for proprietary Nvidia drivers is a plus. First thing I noticed is that everything I tried to install ended with 404 errors. After manually doing apt-get update, these naturally went away, but it would be nice it the installer was smart enough to automatically do this for you (periodically and/or particularly if dist files are not found)

I didn't even think about it until I had already installed, but I just realized this is 32bit code, so I can only access 3.6GB of RAM. Is there a 64 bit version somewhere that I overlooked, or is this in the works. It seems silly to only support 4GB memory in this day and age, when basic laptops ship with 4GB.

Also, is there any guide to getting VMware Workstation (and no, I don't want to use Virtual Box instead) working, or should I expect this to just work?

I didn't have any problems with installing VMware.
