Live CD freezed while ' Loading '

Post by Polarspringer » Thu Aug 21, 2008 9:47 am

I just tried to install Linux Mint with a Live-CD (Elyssa). First time I did it was working fine. Booting normal, etc. pp.

Now I tried yesterday to Boot from Live-CD and install it on my second partition - but the Live-CD did not work as well.

If i try to loading 'normal mode' it freezes my system while 'Loading' appears on Screen. Won't work as well, waited X hours last night, wont work!
If i try to loading 'compatibly mode' it freezes again on 'Loading' .

2 times I did start Elyssa 'right' after the 'Loading sequence', but my system was freezed again on 'Daemon-Controller closed' or something similiar - one time message displayed in a box, the other time it was an empty-box without any text -> freezed.

Someone any idea?

My System:
Type: HP Pavilion dv9500
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20 GHz 2.20 Ghz (dualcore)
Ram: 2.00 GB

Unfortunately a name of a computer from the big manufacturers does not say much - content can change without a change in name
So please tell us
which motherboard
which graphics card
as exactly as possible
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
