I have a dual boot system on my laptop. I installed Ubuntu first and then Mint, both running kernel Yesterday I updated Ubuntu to kernel After a reboot, grub cannot see the new Ubuntu kernel but only the old one. Is there a way to update grub to see the last kernel of Ubuntu?
Thank you

You'll have to edit your /boot/grub/menu.lst file (sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst).
Open a terminal and do an ls /boot so you can see just what kernels you have in there,
then edit the pertinent "kernel" line to reflect just which kernel you want to boot. BTW -
you'll want to be very, very careful with your spelling!

Thank you, I will try your suggestion and let you know. I tried this and worked. After Ubuntu update I copied the part regarding the new kernel from the Ubuntu menu.lst to the Mint menu.lst
