terminal when booting

Postby KeY » Tue Nov 04, 2008 10:30 am

Hi.
When i try to boot LinuxMint the loadingpage with the loadingbar come as usual, but when the login page usualy comes it just says:
"kinit: no resume image, doing nomal boot...
Ubuntu 8.04.1 [username] ttyl
Login.. "

Then i only have the terminal. If i type X, enter, the screen is all blurry and the mousepointer is just a X, i cant do anything.

MAby i removed a package to mutch when i tryed freeing some space:) What can i do? Im close to reinstalling...

"wrong chipset detected, 915 resolution only works with intel .... chipsets"

can this mean anything?

Did you try logging in there? Or try pressing Ctrl Alt F4 and then log in there. Then try this command: "sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start"
